Chapter 10-11

Chapter 10

The bitch was strong, but I don’t think she was fast enough to catch up with us. Shandon and I made our way out of the police station. “We lost her.” I said. “For now.” She’ll find us again eventually. I look down at Shandon, who was still in pain. “You need to tell me where my friends are.” I said. Shandon looked at me, said nothing and looked down. “Do you hear me, where the hell are they!?” I shouted. “They’re no longer in custody of the police!” he shouted back. “Then what did you do?” “We handed them over to Jeremiah Lincoln.” “Who the hell is that!?” There was a pause from Shandon. “The one you know as Torch.”
The utter shock I felt was covered up by a laugh of disbelief. “What?” “His promise to help get rid of this entire group.”
Without using all of my strength I slapped him across the face. “He created this fucking group you idiot!” I snapped. Shandon hit the floor holding his face. I sighed in frustration. “Let’s go.” I said walking off. “That’s assault of an officer!” I heard Shandon yell.

“Can you feel that Vikki?” Ivory said waving her hand in front of Vikki’s face. “Oh my God, can you become anymore of a bigger asshole?” Vikki said as her limbs were tied to a machine that resembled some kind of execution device. “Vikki, I wish you would’ve been a little stronger, you wouldn’t have to be on this end of the deal.” Torch’s deep voice echoed in a heavy based laboratory. Tied in a similar way on machines were Clover, Scab, and Cyro who were apparently unconscious. “Jeremiah, you gutless prick, you are going to die for this.” “I’d be stupid to not disagree.” “What about afterwards, no more clan, no more experiments, no more money.” Vikki laughed. “I’m assuming that you’ve been assuming I haven’t been planning ahead.” “What the hell are you talking about?”
Torch smiled and walked to a computer that controlled the machines that the Clan was chained to. “Hera hasn’t failed yet.”

“Can you drive?” I asked Shandon. “Yeah.” he replied as we ran to the department’s parking garage. We found Shandon’s car, got in it, and started it as quickly as possible. My concentration went into a deep frenzy and I was searching for The Clan’s location, and to see if they were alive. Suddenly a loud startling sound broke my focus and as I peered through the rear-view mirror, I saw the giant woman breaking through the concrete ceiling of the parking garage. “GO!” I yelled and Shandon frantically stepped on the acceleration. I can feel the earth shaking with every footstep that monster made as she was trying to chase us. “Can this thing go any faster!?” “This is all it can do, do something to stop her!”
I groaned in vexation and kicked open the passenger door. I hung my torso out and extended my arm, my other arm holding on to the car. Looking behind us, I saw the enormous woman coming straight us. “Keep steady and don’t get me killed.” I said. I focused my energy and hurled out a strong wave of telekinetic force at the woman. I watch as the wave of energy sweep the giant of her feet, sending her flipping through the air and crashing loudly on the streets. I yelled in excitement as Shandon and I sped off from the scene. “That’ll keep her off our asses.” I laughed. “Yeah for now.” Shandon added. “All I got to do is focus on the Clan’s energy to pin-point their location.” “Well what the hell are you waiting for?!” Before I could close my eyes Shandon’s vehicle hit something hard and flipped over. Thanks to our neglect of seatbelts, we were sent violently through the windshield of the car. The glass crushed my face as gravity took me for an unfortunate ride. I flew into a tree, my back slamming into it relentlessly. As I hit the floor, my mind wanted me to get right back up, but the state of paralysis would not allow it. I can feel and taste the warm blood all over my face and the cuts stung like hell. I moved my pupils in directions to see if I could spot Shandon anywhere and I did; only he was dead. I stared at the grotesque scene of blood bucketing out of his open mouth, and I assumed the impact of the windshield may have broken his neck instantly. I felt the ground under me shaking and I saw large legs approaching me but this time, I couldn’t do anything. The woman had found me and killed one of us at the same time. She picked the frozen body and hoisted me on her shoulders. “Get the fuck off me!” I tried to say but my body wouldn’t allow it. The only thing to wonder is where she was taking me, or who she was taking me to.

I wanted to kick her grip off my leg because she probably has dragged me through the last 2 hours, through streets, plains, and more recently, a desert. This must be a brand new freak that Torch must have trained, but if this is the case, why is he destroying the original? The woman stopped walking as she came upon a large door to a building that looked like an abandoned factory. The large woman threw me against the wall, with one arm, and just by my leg alone. My telekinesis enabled my movement and shook my paralysis off. Before I could react though, the doors behind me opened and 2 women in masks and black body suits grabbed me and pulled me inside the building. I began moving, trying to wiggle out of their grip. Then the women stopped moving and one of them pulled down half her mask to expose her lips. She grabbed my head and kissed me on the lips for a good 7 seconds. My body froze and I was paralyzed again. But this time my telekinesis, with all the fight it gave could not shake this off. The women continued me down a corridor and as we progress I could hear someone yelling for help. I open my mouth to yell back but nothing came out of my voice box. The bitch sucked my voice away.

“Help!” Clover yelled as her limbs were locked inside the strange machine. “It’s no use; no one is here to help us.” Scab said. “Where’s Virtua?” Clover asked. “She’s dead.” Torch replied, “Just like how you all will be soon.” “Burn in hell!” Vikki yelled. “I am your hell, your Satan, your burning eternity.” Suddenly an alarm went off and a frantic voice shouted loudly out of Torch’s radio. “The subject escaped, the subject escaped!”
Before Torch could respond, a body flew in through a door, sliding roughly into the main room. Virtua followed through the door. “No Torch, you’re just another fucker waiting for me to kill you.” She ran up to Torch with a spin kick but he quickly grabbed her in mid-air and slammed her to the floor. “I really don’t have time for your bullshit Betty.” He said with a smile. He walked to the busted up door. “Hera!” He yelled as a large woman appeared at his command out of nowhere. “Finish what you started.”
Torch exited the main room and Virtua was left staring up at the gigantic woman.
I stood to my feet, ignoring a Hera’s loud grumpy breathing. I stared at her for a moment and blurted out a laugh. “I owe you an ass whooping.” I said before I followed up with a spin kick. My kick was blocked and before I could counter her block, sent her fist crashing into my face. I saw a quick flash of light and I was jolted back to the floor, sliding across the room.
I did my best to shake the blur out of my sight and I warily stood to my feet again. “If you can get us out of this contraption, then we can help you Betty.” yelled Clover. “I’m a little preoccupied with King Kong right now.” I said as I avoided a huge right hook from Hera. I took a quick glance at the machine that my four comrades were attached to. Their limbs were separately locked inside large, mechanic sockets and somehow there miscellaneous movements were restraint by some invisible telekinetic force. “Psi Blast!” Vikki yelled, catching my attention. “What?!” I said. “Go for what I’ve taught you!” Vikki taught me the Psi Blast around the beginning of my training. She said anyone could have learned it, even a blind woman. As I gathered my energy to prepare for the attack, I envisioned her sessions with me, teaching me the direct need of my mental as well as my emotional energy. “Gather all of your emotions, happiness, sadness, anger, and combine them into a ball in the diaphragm and let your mind release it.” Her teachings echoed in my head and I focused on all the motivation to bring up those emotions. I wanted to open my eyes and see the miracle I was creating in my hands but I was afraid that I would break focus. I put more mental energy into the ball of energy to lock the power in my hands and I finally opened my eyes only to see Hera doing the exact same thing. Only with more intensity, more power. Across from each other, we were each balling our energy, our power getting brighter, blaring as if we were holding a miniature sun in our hands. Suddenly I felt it, that jolt I needed to let me know it was time to release the attack. I let my mind release the ball of energy and with a smirk so did she. As I released it I guarded my eyes and body to avoid majority of the impact of the collision. “Take cover!” I yelled to my four amigos. “With what?!” one of them yelled back. I listened and then boom. I earth I stood on shook and suddenly I was swept of my feet, and thrown into a glass window. The shatter sent cuts all over me and I went unresponsive as my skull crashed onto a steel surface.

Chapter 11
I felt my body shake, and I wanted to react with an attack, but the blow to my head kept me dazed and kept me from doing so. As I opened my eyes, I saw Vikki and the rest of the team standing over me. I watched as Scab picked me up and held me in his arms. “We’re getting out of here… alive.” I could only eye up at the ceiling as he tried moving along with the group as fast as he could, with me in his arms. “How do we get out of here?” Clover asked in uncertainty. I tried to move to see where we were. “Betty don’t move.” Vikki said, tried to keep me stabilized. “You most likely have suffered a concussion.”
I smirked. “Am I supposed to be scared of a little bump on the head?”
“You need help, really bad.” she said in a serious tone. I looked around, the blur guiding my sight around the metallic halls. “Can’t you teleport out of here, teleport us all out of here?” I asked but I had a feeling something was wrong. “Torch only knows us so well; he put up a telekinetic charm.” “What is that?” “It’s like some kind of a force field which prevents us from doing certain things, one of them being teleportation.” I sighed while holding the side of my head. “Be still Betty, you’re bleeding badly from the side of your head.” said a concerned Scab. I took my hand from my head and peered at the blood that stained my palm. “Beautiful.” I said sarcastically. “How’d you escape those machines?” I asked. “The blast destroyed them, and the charm it had on our movement and mental ability, we were able to escape.” Vikki said. “We have to be careful Virtua.” she said with deep concern. “Yeah this bastard’s got this place rigged with charms.” Cyro said. “It’s like his funhouse I assume.” I said. Vikki nodded. “Put me down.” I told Scab. He nodded and let me down to my feet. “No offense, but I want to walk.”
My vision began to clear and we were at the center of a four-way path. “I hate shit like this.” Cyro said. “Let’s just pick one and go.” I said going to my right. I felt something coming right at me and jerked to the side. After a loud “ping” sound, I look behind me and saw a flaming hatchet was thrown it the wall, flames still dancing upon it. “What the fu…-” “RUN!” Vikki yelled cutting me off. With no hesitation, we ran down the dark hall before the hatchet exploded, lighting up the hall and illuminating the path for just a moment. After the blazing sound echoed into silence, the silence was broken. “What the fuck was that?!” Cyro yelled. I laughed but just for a moment as I realized something. Vikki noticed the look on my face. “Virtua, what’s wrong?” I didn’t answer, only continued to the site of the explosion. I walked to the blasted area and peered at the hatchet, which was scorched by the flames. My eyes widened and the truth became clear, extremely clear. Something I’ve should have known from the beginning. “What’s wrong?!” I turned around and glared at Vikki. With compunction less urge, I sent a hard slap across Vikki’s face. Cyro grabbed me and I kneed him in the stomach and set him to the floor. I then wrapped my hand around Vikki’s neck and held her tightly against the wall. “Virtua, what are you doing?” Clover said coming closer. I looked at her with a fierce look unlike any I’ve given before. If you don’t want to get hurt, don’t get involved.”
Asphyxiated, Vikki smiled. “You’d kill a blind woman.” “I knew it; I knew you were a part of the murder.” I said fury ready to pull tears from my eyes.
“I didn’t murder anyone.” Vikki snarled. “I suggest you back up off me, or I might consider doing so.”
“Do you think that scares me bitch?!” I yelled. “Ladies, ladies, ladies.” said Torch’s voice. The voice was telepathic, buzzing through our minds, not our ears. “I would like to congratulate you all for making it this far through my carnival, but now wouldn’t be a good time to self destruct, for you have much more rides to go.” he said. “What the fuck’s that supposed to mean!” Cyro said. “Have fun my students, and I’ll see you soon.”
I released my grip on Vikki and looked up at the metallic walls. “You think this is funny!” I yelled. “You think this is a fucking game, it’s not damn it, you murdered my family!”
“No matter how you feel, we have to stay together through whatever is coming next.” Vikki said. “Yeah, and I bet you would know what coming next wouldn’t you.” “I’m just as clueless about this place as your naïve ass.” “Stop both of you!” Clover yelled, her innocent young voice, echoing down the mysterious halls. “I really don’t know what the hell is going on, I really don’t, but if you two don’t put that shit aside right now, we can kiss our lives goodbye.”
I glared at Clover and sighed. “She’s right.” I said slowly releasing my grip off Vikki. “We have to keep moving now, because I feel something is coming.” Clover said but before she could utter another word, a very large and husky figure snatched her from visibility in mere seconds. It was the followed by loud roars and frantic screams of Clover.
“Holy shit!” Cyro screamed. “Whatever it was, it wasn’t human.” Vikki said. “O really, well tell us Einstein, what the fuck was that?” I said. “I don’t know.”
Scab suddenly took off down the hall, after the beast. “Scab!” Cyro yelled immediately following. I began to follow but quickly looked at Vikki. “We will finish this.”
